Kelber Catering Inc., conveniently located in downtown Minneapolis, has an entry level management position available. If you have food and beverage, point of sales (P.O.S.) experience with supervisory and leadership skills and are looking for a great opportunity, we have it here.

We are a seven (7) day a week operation, although this position is primarily Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday. This is an hourly position eligible for performance based quarterly incentive bonuses. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Retail Manager will specialize in the set up and operation of all food and beverage outlets. Ensure cash handling procedures and policies are carried out with honesty and integrity for daily operations. Program menu boards, point of sales system and generate reports for the accounting of inventory and sales. Staffing, training and management of associated staff, including alcohol sales and compliance for bartending staff. Maintain product supplies for the efficient operation of outlets. Make certain adherence to Department of Health regulations along with HACCP sanitation techniques and cleaning requirements occur.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Management of food and beverage outlets.
  • P.O.S. system, programming and reporting.
  • Supervision, training, promoting, scheduling, timekeeping, discipline, alcohol sale compliance of department staff, with adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Company Policies and Government Regulations.
  • Determine, set and maintain equipment in a well operating, sanitary and safe condition.
  • Ensure a professional level of service, attitude and attire from staff.
  • Knowledgeable in emergency procedures as per KCI or MCC guidelines; workers compensation injury reporting.
  • Attendance at weekly staff meetings and other management meetings that may arise.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience

Skills: Computer aptitude to learn new software programs. Point of sales software aptitude. Microsoft Suite. Electric pallet jack experience. Use a two-way radio, accurately calculate equations on a calculator. Communicate, read and write in English.

Availability: Must be fully available for a 7 day a week operation. Typically working a 5 day schedule with occasional additional shifts. Must be available for early a.m. opening and or late p.m. closing shifts.

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Point of sales, foodservice and supervisory experience; preferably in a high volume, stadium, convention center, university or college facility.

Physical: Lift and carry 50 pounds. Additional lifting of over 50 pounds with assistance. Move pieces of equipment, some large, over significant distances in the building. Consistently walk, bend, twist, lift and reach.
